Last week was devoted almost exclusively to the Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Kolbe was not too interested in the celebrities, just the big construction vehicles! We thought we knew all of the names for the big vehicles, but learned this excavator is also called a trackhoe. This is the jargon of a mother of a construction boy. Kolbe sat/stood mesmerized by all of the activity the first morning. We were there from 8:30 until after 2 when the house was finally demolished.
The first time Kolbe watched the show with Jeff several weeks ago, he was very concerned that the big machines were going to tear OUR house down. It was good for him to see all they do before the actual demolition, they don't just drive up to a house and destroy it. Kolbe spent Tues all morning with mom, and after Jeff got off work Tues, he and Kolbe headed out with their sack dinners to watch until dark. Wednesday night they did it again, and Friday after Jeff got off work we all went out and watched the action. It was AMAZING to see a house be constructed in one week. They definitely know what they are doing and are very well organized! Libby loves dragging her bags around. Of course the "hat" she is wearing is a purse I crocheted for her at Christmas. She has never quite figured out that that is NOT a hat; We've never seen her put it on her shoulder like a purse.

Libby loves to hide. Many times when we won't hear her for a few minutes we'll go searching and find her behind the rocking chair in her room, or behind the couch in the entryway among other choice spots. She also loves to get into small places, baskets, pots, etc. She and Kolbe had pulled out one of their toy drawers and she climbed into it.
I got into a tutu making craze and she is wearing one of the results. Kolbe wants me to make him an orange one. I may have mentioned in an earlier post he only wants to wear orange because that is the color Bob the Builder wears. How ironic that he wants an ORANGE TUTU! :) A couple of weeks ago Kolbe was invited to a birthday party of one of the little girls in his class. The party was at Pump it Up. They have a lot of huge moonwalk-like play structures. He had a great time!
He tried his air-hockey skills. We will definitely have to practice... Kolbe is such an uncompetitive kid, he cheered for his opponent whenever the little guy scored against him. Kolbe did get a point though, when the boy accidentally pushed it in his own slot. :)
So, he may not be competitive in air hockey, but he was able to woo the little ladies in the class. One of his cute classmates ran up to me and said, "I holded Kolbe's hand going down the slide." I'm certain my eyes were as big as saucers.
Kolbe has always been a go-getter. We were taking a walk and saw Mr. D raking up sweet gum balls in the front yard. Kolbe jumped out of the stroller before I could even get it stopped and grabbed up a rake to help. Libby helped a bit, but tired quickly.

Our last big snow. Kolbe is licking the snow-told me he was hungry.
